Wufang Singapore students did Singapore proud again.
In the recent 5th Asian Junior Wushu Championships, three Wufang Singapore athletes represented Singapore and gathered a total of 4 medals for the country.
Sim Ren Zoe, 13, obtained a gold medal for the cudgel event, and another bronze medal for the broadsword event.
The other two athletes, Brian Loh and Fung Huixin, obtained silver medals in the sword and Chang Quan events respectively.
This achievement, which came six months after another Wufang student Jaryl Tay, 17, obtained two medals in the 2nd World Junior Wushu Championships last December, marks yet another achievement by Wufang students.
Yet all these came at a price.
"I was tired, as I had to juggle with my schoolwork and trainings at the same time. But now I feel so happy and proud of myself. Next time, I will aim for a gold medal." says Brian Loh, 12.
"I'm really proud of them, and I hope that this will be a motivation for them to train even harder, and to do both Wufang and Singapore proud in future," says Wufang Singapore head coach, Vincent Ng.
